Is the Stock Market Open on Black Friday?
For as long as I can remember, Black Friday has been the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States. I can recall waking up from my Thanksgiving food coma, only to see grown adults attacking one another for the latest and greatest holiday gifts. In fact, since 2006 there have been 12 reported deaths and 117 injuries throughout the United States.
Things have calmed down in more recent years. The vast majority of all purchases are made online as retail brick and mortar stores continue to get crushed.
But while millions of citizens will spend their hard earned cash on Black Friday weekend, investors have something else in mind….making money.
Will the Stock Market Be Open on Black Friday?
An open market means opportunity. So while you’re helping yourself to leftovers, consider making a few stock picks on Friday morning or early afternoon.
- The NYSE and Nasdaq will both close early on Black Friday (Nov. 29th) at 1PM
